New Technology

We are progressive. The dental field is constantly updating and improving procedures and materials. Dr. Cornelius spends over 100 hours a year attending continuing education courses to stay abreast of new developments.

We have invested in many new technologies to improve the quality of care we provide. Here a just a few examples:

Digital Radiography: Digital x-rays decrease the amount of radiation required. In fact, the exposure for a full set of digital x-rays is equivalent to spending an afternoon in the sun. Additionally, the quality and diagnostic ability of digital radiography is substantially better than film x-rays.

Dental Laser: The Odyssey diode laser enables us to perform many procedures with less trauma and faster healing.

Intraoral Cameras: Dental video cameras enable you to see what we see. We are able to display magnified pictures of your teeth that help us detect small problems before they become big problems.

Laser Cavity Detection: The Diagnodent helps us to detect the smallest of cavities, before they even become visible on x-rays! The earlier we detect decay, the easier (and less expensive) it is to repair.

Operatory Computers: We have computers in every operatory with sophisticated dental software that allow us to increase our efficiency, minimize the time you are in the chair and keep track of your dental history.

Interactive Patient Education: Our computer-based video system provides detailed explanations of complex dental procedures in easy to understand terms. The more informed you are, the better equipped you are to make a decision.

Microdentistry: In some cases, we can perform procedures using air abrasion. This can mean no drill, no anesthesia.

Dental Loupes: Dr. Cornelius uses dental magnification glasses, called loupes, to perform all procedures. This provides better visualization, better precision, increased detail and, ultimately, better dentistry.
